No one can be prepared to hear the words, “Your child has cancer.” Yet this year in the United States 15,780 parents with children between the ages of birth and 19 years old will hear those words. 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with a form of cancer before their 20th birthday.
While survival rates for many types of childhood cancer have improved, for too many children, cancer will shorten their lives too soon. Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for children in America.

Riley’s Army would give us [gift] cards to eat, gas cards for appointments…It’s hard when you have a sick child, having to worry about bills and hospital stays…I don’t know what I would do without Riley’s Army.
Mother of a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Patient
You know how you’re the outsider, you’re looking in, and you’re wondering where you’re giving your donations to? We live that. We can see where your donations are going was really active in our lives. Even with us living far from the hospital, they made sure we had the gas and the finances to make it to the hospital. We appreciated that.
Mother of a Patient
Since our inception, Riley’s Army has supported over 445 children with cancer who reside in Eastern North Carolina.
We pray for a day when no one is told that their child has cancer, but until then, we are honored to serve these precious families.
